DCFS 2008 -
Descriptional Complexity of Formal Systems will be held in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, July 16-18, 2008.
In 2002 DCFS
was the result of the merger of
DCAGRS (Descriptional Complexity of Automata, Grammars and Related Structures)
and FDSR (Formal Descriptions and Software Reliability).

DCAGRS was previously held in Magdeburg (1999), London (2000) and Vienna (2001).

FDSR was previously held in Paderborn (1998), Boca Raton (1999) and San Jose (2000).
Since 2002 DCFS was held in succesively in London, Ontario, Canada (2002),
Budapest, Hungary (2003),
London, Ontario, Canada (2004),
Como, Italy, EU (2005),
Las Cruces, US (2006), and
Novy Smokovek (High Tatras), Slovakia, EU (2007).
DCFS 2008 will be jointly organized by the IFIP
Working Group 1.2 on Descriptional Complexity
and the
Department of Computer Science and Information Technology of University of Prince Edward Island.
The workshop is sponsored by the Department of Computer Science and Information Technology of University of Prince Edward Island.

It will take place after ICALP 2008 -- the 35th
International Colloquium on
Automata, Languages and Programming --
and
immediately before
CIAA 2008 -- The Thirteenth International Conference on Implementation and Application of Automata (CIAA), San Francisco, California, USA
on July 21-24, 2008 -- thus it will allow attending all these conferences.
